Take a good look at the water you drink - chances are it looks clean and free from impurities, right? But do you know what's really in that water? Although it may start from a clean source, water has to travel a long way through pipes, sometimes miles of pipes, before it reaches your home or business. Along the way, that water may be picking up contaminants that come from pipes that are old and corroded, and from ground water that enters these pipes through leaks.
Federal and state agencies provide guidance, but no oversight, on managing wells; which means the homeowner is responsible for the maintenance of the well.

CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION (CDC) FACTS ABOUT PRIVATE GROUND WATER WELLS
Over 15 million households in the United States use private household wells for drinking water.
If polluted ground water is consumed, it could cause illness. Ground water pollution can be caused by seepage through landfills, failed septic tanks, underground fuel tanks, fertilizers and pesticides, and runoff from urban areas.
It is important that private ground water wells are checked regularly to ensure that the water is safe for drinking.
Typically, private water systems that serve no more than 25 people at least 60 days of the year and have no more than 15 service connections are not regulated by the EPA.
Fulmer Home Inspections offers the following Water Testing Scans. All three of the complete scans, Standard, Comprehensive and Health meet FHA & VA Requirements.
